Perl Training in Ahmedabad IndiaPerl is the most powerful language for pattern matching or regular expression, which is open source & powerful enough to be used as web scripting langauge. Ankur Patel has given Perl training to few individuals & recently(August 16,17,18 2007) (he has given training to employees of Verizon at Chennai, India. Read his Experience here: Perl Training at Verizon was out of a blue request made by Santhosh and fortunately we had not much work load during that time, so I could go to Chennai again for Perl Training at Verizon Wireless. Verizon is No.2 company in the world for telecommunication. Well, I don't ever judge who is No.1 & who is No.2. Its just a mind game people play every time. I had to leave on August 15,2007(it was independence day of India and very tight security check on all airports). It was my first time flight to Air Deccan(where you have to buy snacks and one of the most cheap airline tickets provider). The Perl training was very good. Most of the people (almost 15 people) were fresh out of college or not much programming experience. The most remarkable thing I have experienced at Verizon is: Very relaxed environment. Saturday-Sundays are off and everyday most of the staff come at 11-00 or 12-00 and then leave at 6-00 or 7-00. Also in lunch time people spent good time in canteen(which was excellent as well). The pay is also very good at Verizon(more than Wipro/Satyam/Infosys). The first day, I taught them Basics of Perl language and gave some examples. Perl documentation & "Perl Cookbook" were main source of training material. Second day, I taught them Regular expression & shared some real live experiences of using Perl. Third day, all participants were not in a mood to learn as it was Saturday and they were the only ones who had to come to office. We just had session from 11-00 to 4-00 and in between we had a lunch break of 45 minutes as well. On third day, I taught them Web Automation with Perl, which they found interesting & quote useful. The 3 day session ended with feedback sheets and one main thing I learnt is: When you go to teach in such a BIG & relaxed work environment company, then just feed the participants with some readymade programs & nice Powerpoint presentation. Anyway, it was really nice experience to be at Verizon and teach them Perl language. Thanks to Santhosh & his team at Chennai and thanks to all participants too at Verizon!!! |
