Profile of Ankur PateL
Ankur Patel holds master degree in computer from Utah State University, USA. He has software development experience for over a decade using open source technologies like Linux, Perl, PHP, RoR, Java etc. He has worked with international clients based in USA, UK, Canada, Netherlands, Australia, Italy, Ireland, France etc. He has worked on many different projects - ranging from small software to complex web applications.
Ankur has a passion for teaching and current focus of work has been consulting, training and mentoring teams(at his own company - Infotrex Services) on Open source Technologies.
Ankur came back to India in Jan. 2003, and since then he is busy working with various international clients as well guiding small team of developers to deliver their best. Ankur is one of the BEST minds, work with many of the BEST minds and teach to make the BEST minds in this world .
During his master study in Utah State Univeristy, USA - he became the official liason of ACM(Association for Computing Machinery) CrossRoads -which is a student magazine of ACM.
He was also involved in a Linux Group in Utah State University. He had a GREAT experience to attend a lecture of Richard M. Stallman(He is the GREATEST Open Source Guru!!!) when he was the keynote speaker at the 1st USU Free Software and GNU/Linux Forum, in September 2000.
During his masters study, he worked (from Nov.1999 to Aug. 2001) for "Center for Atmospheric and Space Sciences" in SER(Science Engineering Research) building for the GAIM Project. It was a 5 year long weather forecasting project, in which 4 univ. were involved and unofficially University of Southern California & NASA's Jet Propulsion Lab invloved too!!! He had a great time doing coding in Perl for this job. He was the only person responsible for making web application for weather analysis.
